Divergence IV - " A New Hope "
by jurialmunkey

Requires Murrine Engine > 0.98

INSTALLATION
I have removed the installer because too many people complained about it. Here are install instructions:

Extract the .zip to a folder
Open Appearance Preferences
Click "Install..."
Locate the folder you extracted the .zip to and select "A-New-Hope.tar.gz"

CUSTOMISATION
Open Nautilus
Press Ctrl+H to show hidden folders
Open ".themes"
Open "A-New-Hope"
Double Click customise.py

EMERALD (TRANSPARENCY)
To get transparency, you will need to install Compiz and Emerald. There are emerald themes included within the .zip file.
To make emerald stay default, go into CompizConfig Settings Manager > Window Decoration > and in the box next to "Command" enter: emerald --replace
Then hit ALT + F2 to get a run dialog and enter: emerald --replace

AWN - AVANT WINDOW NAVIGATOR
The AWN style used is called Lucido. There are themes in the .zip

KNOWN ISSUES
- Metacity can only be used with left sided buttons. (A right side version will come soon)
- Toolbar colours which are not dark make the breadcrumbs look ugly.
- Metacity only follows colour changes correctly with the A New Hope gtk (this is due to minor hack that had to be implemented in order for the colour changes to work. There is also a fixed colour version of the metacity which matches with Ambiance)
- Window title text sizes over 15pnt cause issues
- TESB colour changes do not change the colours of the rounded corners of the sidebar (this is due to pixmaps being used and unfortunately cannot be fixed)

Divergence IV - "A New Hope" by ~jurialmunkey - the suggester said: "Looks to me like someone has just broken the walls down. Beautiful and unusual color combination with simple window buttons together with little aero look. Favesome Gnome theme that should be in your pocket of Linux theme collection."

I love this theme, however it doesn't work correctly. The window colors don't change. I always get this error in terminal, usually when dealing with nautilus.

/home/(user)/.themes/A-New-Hope/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:118: error: unexpected identifier `trough_border_shades', expected character `}'

What's going on?

Ops, how do you make this theme? Do you have a tutorial in it? I'm interesting in. I just wanna create a mockup. Thank you.

When I click 2 times on Customize.py nothing happens. I tried to open it from terminal but it returns this:
[root @ Nosonja-A-New Hope] # python customise.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "customise.py", line 11, in <module>
import pygtk
ImportError: No module named pygtk

how can I fix it?

Almost everything worksperfectly for me. However, in your screenshots the menu bar and toolbars are a dark charcoal color. Mine are a very bland grey. This is the only thing keeping my desktop from being gorgeous. Thanks in advance.

Where the theme is installed (usu. ~/.themes/A-New-Hope, but maybe something like /usr/share/themes/A-New-Hope) there is a file customise.py. Run that and select if you'd like dark tabs, scrollbars, menu panes, etc. Click save in the bottom left corner.

I can't seem to get this to go transparent. I've done the Compiz/Emerald thing... it keeps saying it can't find the file/command. Can someone help?!?! Please!
